Stories

Barrowsgate loved nothing more than spinning a good yarn. As his writing career gained momentum, he penned a number of stories (mostly longer pieces), written in “the King’s English” and aimed at a wider readership than just people living in Aberdeenshire. Only a few of his stories were published in the printed press but there is evidence that several were broadcast in some form on BBC Scotland radio. It is possible that most of them were, but the BBC radio broadcast schedules currently available on the BBC Genome Project do not always include regional variations such as BBC Scotland.

The publication dates shown are those of the first known publication or broadcast, except those dated 01 January 1950, whose publication dates are unknown at present.
