Not realising that Mistress Barrowsgate has moved the ladder, he starts to fall but manages to catch himself but is stranded on the roof. In the meantime, Mistress Barrowsgate eats all the food so it doesn’t go to waste.

Jeck collects his salmon hook from home and fishes Peter out of the water. He then gives Peter a reviving dram, which kicks him back to life – and Jeck over the side of the boat. What he thought had been whisky was a mixture of turpentine and linseed oil.

A Gallant Rescue
With Peter still in the loch, Jeck attempts a rescue with an old tyre but that sinks due to lack of air. In desperation Jeck runs off home to fetch his salmon hook. To be continued …
